Using The Internet Usage System

The Internet Usage System allows BTL Internet users to monitor the time they spend online.  Using the Internet Usage System is simple and straight forward.  There are only two steps to follow:

1. Log in using a valid user name and password.
2. Enter a start date and an end date then click on search to generate an Internet Usage Report.

Registration
First time users must register before using the Internet Usage System.  Registration will allow users to establish a password that will be used to gain access to the Internet Usage System.  Registration is done only once and involves filling out a short form that requires your BTL Internet Account user name and a unique four-character password.

Registration may fail for three possible reasons:

1.  The account you specified may have already been registered.
2.  The system did not recognize the user name as being a valid btl.net account.
3.  The account you specified has certain restrictions.

In cases 2 and 3 users are prompted to contact the webmaster  for assistance.

User Name
The system will only recognize BTL Internet users' account names (the user name that you use when accessing the Internet through your dial-up connection).

Password
It is important to note that the system does not use the same password as the one used for your dial-up Internet connection.  Also, your password can only have a maximum length of four characters.  If a user enters a wrong password a "forget password?" link will appear on the login page.  When the user clicks on the link an email with the user's password will be generated by the system and sent to the user's email address @btl.net.  Note:  The only way to have your password resent is by attempting to login with an invalid password and then clicking on the "forget password?" link when it appears. Users may also change their password by clicking on the change password link after they have successfully logged in to the system.
