When travelling to mainland destinations, be sure to get sufficient information on road conditions and accessibility. Though the main highways of Belize are all paved, some off-road sites are best reached by four-wheel drive vehicles. The Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, for example, is not an easy trip. The dirt roads are often rough.
